What’s going on?

by

I’m about to discuss an upcoming plot point that I think is fairly obvious and well known, but if you’re a spoiler-phobe, look away now.

So, I always make a point to read the writer’s blog for Grey’s Anatomy. I was very surprised to learn that this past episode was written by Shonda Rhimes. Now, y’all know I’m a big Shonda fan, but I think last week’s episode was subpar. In her blog she talks about how difficult it was for her to write the episode and how the director started shooting without a script. Maybe this explains it. And she drops a hint that a major character is going to die. The way its written, we’re supposed to believe its Meredith. But I don’t think I buy it. Do you? Kristin at E! keeps saying that the death will be very shocking and you’ll never believe they would do it.

So who’s kicking it, gang? Burke would be the obvious choice, but he’s not in danger - not yet. (And yes, I like his character but have a hard time watching without thinking what a tool he is in real life). What about McDreamy? Chances are he’s jumping in there after Meredith. That would certainly be shocking.

Do you see the point in killing a character? I really don’t. There’s enough drama without offing someone else. This ain’t Lost, after all.

Check out Shonda’s post.

I’m not buying for a minute that Meredith is going to bite the big one. She’s Meredith Grey, the show’s GREY’S anatomy. That one won’t happen.

The show needs McDreamy, Addison, Burke, Izzy, George, McSteamy and Bailey. And probably Alex.

For possibles that leaves: Richard, Callie, Ellis and Olivia.

I don’t think it’ll be Richard because they’ve already been doing the set up for his retirement, why do a major kill off, it’s almost a waste? I doubt it’ll be Callie because she has too big of a fan base, and they’ve already killed off one main characters significant other. I wouldn’t be surprised if she is pregnant soon though.

I want it to be Christine. She’s no longer an intricate part of the plot, she’s annoying and it would be an easier write out for Burke soon after.

I think they’re going to kill off Ellis or Olivia and that it won’t be connected to the Ferry Boat at all. TV shows have a bad habit of saying that they’re knocking off a “main” character, but their idea of a main character is a little different than mine.

    Yes. I need a life.

Hmmm… I don’t know if Ellis would be shocking enough?? Any of the main characters would be shocking, true. I just don’t see the need though. Maybe it’s another spoiler leak that’s not true? That’s my hope!!
