Denny Duquette Memorial Clinic

by

Ok, who didn’t see that one coming? As soon as Bailey said she wanted to open a free clinic, I knew Izzie would use the money for that. And three cheers for the return of Bailey! Or as Derek said, “The Nazi’s back.” I’m glad to see she’s getting back to a front and center story - I’ve missed her. Elsewhere the big 4 - Addison, Derek, Mark and Burke all tried to get the Chief to hear their reasons why they should take over for him after his retirement. He’s not having it. In fact, it seems he thinks the position should be Bailey’s in a year or two. And I’m with Adele - that was MONTHS ago when she said she had no more time to wait. Did he really think she would be sitting there at home hoping for him to retire? Bet the retirement is off, now, don’t you think?

I don’t usually talk about patient plotlines on here much, but I was really moved by Jillie and Rachel and their story. What an unusual twist for them to be Amish (or I guess former Amish). It was nice to see a true best friend story play out like it would in real life. And the girl playing Rachel was Beth on American Dreams if you were curious. (Geez, I loved that show, still sad it is gone).

So we got a little preview of Addisex last week, then nothing this week. It’s just a matter of time, folks. Like my pal Liesa said, he’s just letting her off the hook. But we all know she doesn’t want to be let off the hook. (Side note, when they were in the call room together I thought about that scene last year with Izzie and Alex where she said, “Literally take off your pants” Too funny).

What else? Oh Derek and Meredith fought and made up. I did think it was a sweet moment when he said, “I’ll always show up.” And Burke and Christina didn’t speak until the end. She finally broke down and told him that she was in it for the long haul so he could win that round. Burke responded by proposing.

I found that to be anti-climatic and I don’t know why exactly.

George “the sex machine” O’Malley coped with his dad’s death the best way he could think of. And when Callie said no more he proposed. This didn’t really surprise me all that much. George has always been a big gesture guy.

So who will say yes? My money’s on Christina. I think Callie will say no, but who knows for sure. Will the Chief recind his retirement notice? Will Izzie quit working as a surgical intern to work at the free clinic? Could Mark get more annoying?

Talk to me peeps–

I was so disappointed with the proposals! I mean, I just felt like it was a little over-the-top. I know a show is not supposed to be completely realistic, but can we have just a little bit of realism, please? The proposals were shocking, for sure, but I just didn’t like the timing. And unfortunately, Isaiah’s off-screen antics are skewing my perception of Burke. There, I said it. I just don’t feel the same admiration for Burke, and I’m not cheering him and Christina on anymore. Boo.

everything about this show has been over the top lately, and kinda lame. I’m -really- getting sick of Miss Grey’s indecisveness and general weakness… but then again, I’m probably incensitive for even thinking that :P
