TR Knight

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Today is Grey’s Anatomy star TR Knight’s 35th birthday. I’m sure his BFF Katherine Heigl will be hosting a party any minute now. I love those two as besties in real life, but on screen, I’m not a fan of George and Izzie as a couple. I know some of you will staunchly disagree on that point. But it just seemed forced to me.

From what I’ve read about the last batch of episodes we will get to end the season, it seems as though series creator Shonda Rhimes is going to try and wipe the George/Izzie slate clean. TR was quoted in Entertainment Weekly saying his character will spend some time trying to get back to being “the man Bailey named her baby after.” And I’m glad to hear that. I used to love George, but that whole Callie and Izzie mess sort of ruined him for me. Here’s hoping we’ll see the George we used to love back and better than ever!

Enchanted is out on DVD today

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

In case you missed all the buzz about it, Enchanted stars the fantastic Amy Adams as a cartoon princess Gisele. Gisele is set to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) but his wicked stepmother Narissa (Susan Sarandon) shoves Gisele into a well and she winds up very real and in New York. She meets Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his daughter and the fun begins. I’m an unabashed HUGE fan of this movie. I saw it at the theater twice (I know, but once was at the dollar theater) and I’m not a kid (far from it). But I did grow up in the glorious days of Disney at its best with Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, etc. And I’m happy to report that this fantastic movie fits right in with that grand tradition.

And our boy Patrick Dempsey has never looked hotter. Seriously. Maybe it’s that whole dashing prince thing going on in the movie, but wow, if you are a McDreamy fan, trust me, you must see this movie! And you can play a fun game during the movie – watch to see how many times Patrick’s hair is completely different from one minute to the next – in the SAME SCENE. The stylist apparently just couldn’t figure out how to part it, or not part it.

Did I really spend the better part of a paragraph talking about his hair?

It is a ridiculously awesome head of hair though. Seriously.

And for you die hard Disney fans, take note that Robert’s (Patrick’s) secretary in the movie is none other than Jodi Benson – the voice of the Little Mermaid.

Seriously, go rent it today ladies! You will love it!

Eric Dane

Friday, March 7th, 2008

The Grey’s Anatomy cast has been making the most of their downtime during the recent Writer’s Strike. Eric Dane landed a role in the movie Marley and Me. The movie is based on the best selling book Marley and Me by Josh Grogan. The autobiographical book tells the story of Grogan, his wife and their lab Marley over a 13 year period. The film stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. There have been a ton of recent photos of Owen, Jennifer and Eric shooting scenes for the movie and also some of them just hanging out.

Since it has been a very, very long time since we’ve seen any McSteamy on our screens, I thought I’d bring you a little Friday happiness with this picture. Enjoy!

Is Katherine Heigl leaving Grey’s?

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

The rumors of Katherine Heigl’s impending departure from Seattle Grace have been going fast and furious ever since a little movie called Knocked Up premiered. It’s no secret that Katherine was not happy with the latest round of contract negotiations. There was plenty of talk at that point that she wouldn’t be sticking around.

Now we’ve got more rumors floating around hot on the heels of the success of 27 Dresses. The bottom line is, even if she wanted to leave. She couldn’t. She’s still firmly under contract, so she isn’t going anywhere.

I’m glad she isn’t leaving because I want to give Shonda Rhimes and company one more chance to fix the mess they have made with her character. I used to love the character of Izzie, but lately she’s been all wrong. I never liked George and Izzie together – it felt too forced and a bit too convenient to pair them up. And we all know that there is some serious fan backlash about George and Izzie. I’m looking forward to the show’s return after the writer’s strike, but let’s hope things get back on track all the way around.
