“Let the truth sting” recap
I liked this episode. I don’t think I even rolled my eyes once and I laughed several times. Charlie, aka “Really Old Man” woke up! I love that they tied up that plot line. How cute was this old man? Seriously. Loved him. He knew all of their secrets and wasn’t afraid to call them out on them. He told Izzie that she was kidding herself to think it would ever work out between her and George. I think this is setting up in the inevitable end of the Gizzie saga. (I could be wrong; I know a lot of you love them together).
Izzie didn’t think that George was ever going to tell Callie and he finally told Izzie to back off. At the end of the episode, Callie asked George to tell her what she already knew and he responded with “I slept with Izzie.” I almost felt sorry for Callie during this episode. I want to like the character and I think I actually might once she’s not with George. And if she’s going to be around Bailey, I’m sure I’ll eventually like her.
Elsewhere Alex was assigned the oldest intern ever. And I have to shout out Edward Hermann of the late great Gilmore Girls. He was fantastic in the role. I wonder how long he’ll be around. Speaking of the interns, are we going to get to know any of them besides Lexie or not? And finally Lexie let her anger out on Meredith and when Meredith whined to Bailey she gave her a reality check. Maybe there is hope for these two yet.
And how happy are we to see Derek in a good mood for a change? Love it. I really loved the scene where he told the Chief and Mark they had no business performing the surgery on that lady’s tongue.
Last thing – Lexie and Alex are so going to hook up. Or at least I thought so until Alex went back to his season one self and told an elevator full that George was repeating his intern year. Ouch.

I liked this episode - I agree, it was fun that really old guy woke up and I loved Izzie’s speech at the end about how she needed him. In general, I like Alex, especially after Ava last season - however, at the end of the episode today, I hated him. What a jacka**. And Edward Herrman? It took me a minute to realize who that was - he doesn’t really look that old in real life, does he? I understand that Meredith is in an odd place with her sister, but I really liked the way that she went through Susan’s death report with Lexi so that Lexi would understand that Mer didn’t kill her mother. This might be the beginning of seeing their relationship go in a different direction. I hope.
And Callie… I feel for Callie - she hasn’t done anything wrong and yet she is in this place and it sucks. I love how Miranda wants to work with her and I think they would be a great team. And as her and George? I can’t wait to see the throwdown with Izzie next week! All in all, it seems like the episodes are getting better - I was a little worried after the season opener…

[…] is a theory that it might even be Alex and Lexie. Which I completely believed would happen until that scene where Alex told the other interns that George was a “repeater.” She looked disgusted, but hey, if we know anything about Alex, we know he repulses them first and […]
